Meet Erica M. Clark, LCSW, LISW-CP

As a trauma-informed therapist and EMDR provider, I specialize in helping individuals heal from life transitions, emotional wounds, and attachment-based struggles. I approach therapy with authenticity, clinical skill, and a deep respect for each person's lived experience.

In addition to therapy, I provide professional immigration evaluations for individuals and families seeking legal relief. These evaluations are conducted with urgency, cultural humility, and attention to the psychological impacts of migration, trauma, and systemic stress.

I believe that healing and advocacy can coexist, and I’m honored to offer both.

Background

What was your path to becoming a mental health provider?

I began my career in medical social work, but found my passion in helping people navigate relationships and life transitions. Although I didn’t initially envision myself as a psychotherapist, I’ve always had a natural ability to hold space for others. I specialize in working with  individuals facing relational trauma resulting in challenges in dating, breakups, self-esteem, and navigating complex and repeated unhealthy relationship patterns. I support clients through major life changes like career shifts, motherhood, and identity exploration. My approach is warm, direct, and rooted in person-centered care, CBT, EMDR, DBT, Attachment theory, and Emotionally focused therapy. I help clients gain clarity, build confidence, and create healthier connections and reduce problematic symptoms.

Therapy is having a space where we can tell our stories and truly feel heard, understood, and validated. I utilize empathy, emotional support, and active listening and provide a safe space for my clients; I will often challenge thinking patterns and beliefs and use therapeutic tools, including homework and activities, to assist with emotional growth. During our initial therapy session, we’ll determine what goals you have for therapy in terms of the changes you would like to see in your life and/or yourself. We will work together to determine what progress will look like for you and create a plan for how we can best use our time together to support, challenge, and motivate you.
